PGA WEST WEISKOPF

Weiskopf at Madison Street, La Quinta, CA

The Weiskopf is one of six neighborhoods composing PGA West®. Featuring designer Tim Weiskopf’s only golf course in the Palm Springs area, it is the final course in the PGA West® collection of popular courses.

Behind the private gated entrance of Weiskopf are beautiful single-family homes built from the late 1990’s through 2007. Floorplans vary from 2,100 to over 6,000 square feet with most homes sporting golf course locations, and some feature private fenced in yards. In the last few years, premium view custom homes were developed on the golf course, some positioned on generous 32,000 square foot lots.

Opening in 1996, the Weiskopf course flaunts Scottish flair thanks to the links style design found on several renowned Scottish courses. An 18-hole private course, the front nine move golfers away from the clubhouse while the back nine escort them back. The design incorporaes a Scottish tradition, the element of a ‘bye hole’, that acts as a 19th hole when tied matches go to ‘sudden death’. Still popular in Scotland, there are only a very small number in America. The Weiskopf has co-hosted the PGA Tour Qualifying Finals, Q-School, yet this course is condusive to all skill levels.
