PGA WEST PALMER

55-955 PGA Blvd, LA Quinta, CA

The Palmer community at La Quinta’s illustrious PGA West® development is distinguished by it’s own private PGA Boulevard gated entrance. Crafted between 1985 and 2008, the Palmer section presents both single-family and condo styled homes.

Nearly all single-family addresses afford golf course positions, while all condos are on the course wound around beautifully displayed water features. Specifically, condos were constructed from 1986 to 1990, boast lakefront properties, and vary in size from 1,300 to 2,850 square feet. A small number of new homes were built on the golf course in 2008 as well.

Homeowners and renters have the benefit of many recreational amenities such as tennis courts, sport-courts, and various community pools and spas. Use of the Palmer clubhouse and fitness facility are reserved especially for members.

Celebrated hall-of famer Arnold Palmer chiseled this 18-hole course incorporating the area’s natural elements to amplify the game. In fact, the last five holes integrate the ruggedness of the Santa Rosa Mountains base. Often spotted are Bighorn sheep lazily grazing while golfers pilot the course’s hidden waterways and rocky geography. Built in 1986, this private course was the second of PGA West’s five championship courses to be completed. Thirty acres of lakes, streams, and elevated tees punctuated by an abundance of olive, pine, and pepperwood trees add visual appeal.

Golf history enthusiasts will know that the Palmer course has hosted the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic since 1988. Arnold Palmer is a five-time Hope Classic champion himself. Another fun fact is that David Duval made history by earning a 59 in the final round of the 1999 competition. A feat that has not been duplicated. A plaque can be found gracing the par-5 18th fairway marking the place where Duval hit his second shot across the water during his record-breaking round.
